Second International Filmfestival Frankfurt

Under the patronage of Wim Wenders, the 2nd International Filmfestival Frankfurt will take place from November 2nd until November 12th, 2006. In the course of eleven days five cinemas will present 120 cinematic productions from over 30 countries.

The IFFF is conceived as an audience-oriented festival, where films and film-makers take center stage. At the conclusion of the festival, an audience award will be bestowed.

Regarding content, the Festival contains numerous highlights. To name but a few: this year?s retrospectives are dedicated to Argentinean film-maker Nelly Kaplan, who now lives in France, and to New York based film-maker Lech Kowalski. While at the 1st International Filmfestival Frankfurt, Martin Scorsese compiled a series of his favorite film classics. This year?s Festival will feature Dennis Hopper?s all time favorites. All in all, the Festival will present a multi-faceted program containing both feature films and documentaries.

By donating proceeds from the sale of some of his photographs, Wim Wenders has significantly contributed to making the International Filmfestival Frankfurt a mainstay of the city?s cultural offerings well into the future. The sponsorships of Prof. Dr. Peter Wesner and KPMG also help create a sound financial basis for the years to come.

In cooperation with UNICEF, the International Filmfestival Frankfurt supports the project ?Schools for Africa?. With each cinema ticket sold one Euro will be donated to the project.
