In that one corner of the Saint-Ouen fleamarket, there is a junk dealer. His name is Charles. In that one building, there is a caretaker, a cleaning lady rather. Her name is Lucie. Charles and Lucie often fight: they are husband and wife, what else? But the notary's assistant comes in handy: thanks to an unexpected heritage, Charles and Lucie can start afresh... In the older couple's steeplechase, Nelly Kaplan pursues the treacherous appearance of the heritage and the illusion of a new life, a perfect set-up for irony and surrealistic gags. Like the murderer in the confessional box or the fortune teller Nostradama played by Belen (Kelly Kaplan herself). ?Due to the brilliant and subtle performance of Ginette Garcin?and to Daniel Ceccaldi, funny and moving, this guilt-redeeming film against the movement of trends and likings, underlines its authors personal development. You will be enthralled.? (Henry-Jean Servat, ?Midi Libre?, 12.09.79)
